Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new device structure based on microstrip line (MSL) is proposed to realize the MMW liquid crystal (LC) phase shifter. While maintaining an advantage of easiness in integration as conventional CPW type LC phase shifter, it is confirmed that the phase modulation characteristics are obtained as much as conventional MSL type LC phase shifter. In addition, we will also touch on the results investigated about the liquid crystal molecular orientation characteristics by induced the folded electrode structure which is introduced to expand the amount of phase modulation.
