Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a microscope system for continuously taking the magnification images of a three-dimensional object by using a liquid crystal (LC) lens with a single or double circularly hole-patterned electrodes. The focal length can be controlled by applying the voltages to the circularly hole-patterned electrode and transparent external flat electrode without any mechanical movements. The distortion and resolution of the obtained image were measured and evaluated. The depth properties of the object can be estimated by using a Laplacian-Gaussian filter process of the all focused images.
