Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We evaluated the psychological and physiological responses to sound stimulation (scary sound and soothing sound) by frontal activity asymmetry (anterior asymmetry and emotion model, AAE model) and Yoshida Method. Reliability of and association between these two methods were investigated. Subjects were thirteen graduate students aged from 21 to 25 years old (22.9±1.3 yr). They were asked to sit in a chair and maintain their eyes closed during experiment (including 10 min rest, 5 min sound presentation and 10 min rest). Electroencephalogram (EEG) was measured. Under the scary sound presentation, subjects with unpleasant state of mind by Yoshida method showed greater right frontal activation than the left by AAE model. Results show that both methods are valid and complementary methods for the evaluation of psychological response to sound stimulation.
