Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the light extraction efficiency of Organic light emitting device (OLED), using micro-lens array by evaluating optical transmittance properties of micro-lens sheet and back-reflection characteristics of OLED from experimental and theoretical approaches. In result, light extraction coefficient of the micro-lens sheet was improved by a factor of 1.3 to 2.2 depending on the back reflectivity of the sheet. It was found that optical matching between micro-lens array and OLED plays an important role in light extraction from the device, rather than the configuration of micro-lens array. It was concluded that out-coupling efficiency of the OLED with micro-lens sheet can be improved in the between 1.2 to 1.8 times depending on the back reflectivity and optical mode distribution of the device.
