Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Radio communication systems often use two analog signals as real and imaginary parts of a complex number, and the two signals are usually called I and Q signals. On an integrated circuit, analog signals are usually differential signals. Therefore, a complex number is expressed using 4-node voltages. The author proposed balanced 3-phase analog signal processing and circuits for the 3-phase system[1]. The proposed circuits are expected to have small chip area because the number of passive elemnts are smaller than that for I/Q differential circuits. A test chip adopting the 3-phase anarog circuits is fabricated using 130nm CMOS technology, and mesured results show that 3-phase is enough for 2-dimentional signal.
