Relation of phase noise and Q factor of sinusoidal oscillator

Abstract(in English) The sinusoidal oscillator with little phase noise or few spread of an output frequency spectrum is high performance. The oscillating frequency and a gain required for an oscillation could be found from a small signal equivalent circuit. However, the method of searching for the spread condition of an output frequency spectrum from a small signal equivalent circuit was not known. Recently, active Q was proposed as an index showing this spread condition. Active Q has an advantage which can derived for from a small signal equivalent circuit. However, the relation between active Q and an output frequency spectrum is not necessarily clear. In this paper, the relation between active Q and spread of an output spectrum is investigated. We shows that active Q and spread of an output spectrum have a relation of a monotone increase, and they are not necessarily proportional.
