Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have constructed an ultra-low field NMR/MRI system using an HTS-rf-SQUID and room-temperature electromagnets. In this study, we introduced a permanent magnet of 270mT instead of the electromagnet for pre-polarization, in order to improve the signal to noise ratio (S/N) of the system. In addition, we constructed an instrument to transfer the magnetized sample from the permanent magnet to under the SQUID about 1.5 m away from the permanent magnet in about 0.5 s. Then, an AC pulse field coil to apply a π/2 pulse after the sample transfer was introduced to measure a free induction decay signal from the sample. By this system, we obtained a NMR signal from a tap water of 10 ml sample. The S/N of the NMR spectrum was about 100, which was 10 times larger than that obtained with the previous system using the electromagnet of 32mT.
