GaInP Quantum-Well Distributed Bragg Reflector Laser Integrated with Phase-Shifted Grating Coupler for Multispot Focusing

Abstract(in English) Phase-shifted grating couplers (GC) are proposed and designed to obtain two-dimensional spot arrays. A GaInP red distributed Bragg reflector laser integrated with the phase-shifted GC for multispot focusing is designed and fabricated. A 3×3 square spot array output from the fabricated laser is demonstrated. In addition, rotation-symmetric multispot focusing grating couplers with periodic binary phase modulation are designed and fabricated. The functions of 60° and 45° rotation-symmetric multispot focusing with the same spot intensities are also demonstrated.
