Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One performance limiting issue in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) gate switching is pattern effect due to the gain saturation effect. In this work, the impact of SOA pattern effect on the optical burst using multilevel-modulation formats, such as 16QAM and OFDM, is evaluated. Moreover, we propose a low-complexity compensation scheme for the SOA pattern effect using a receiver-side symbol rate digital signal processing.
