Abstract(in English) | We analytically study scattering problems on the basis of the mode expansion theory, when the metal screen perforated periodically with square holes are illuminated by a plane wave of p- or s-polarization. In the periodic scattering system, there exist two kinds of extraordinary transmission phenomena originating from surface EM-mode and Fabry-Perot resonances. We show that in the doubly periodic system, new band-pass transmission emerges in the subwavelength region, and find that its spectrum exhibits interesting behavior because of higher order diffraction modes, sensitively depending on the distance between the metal screens. |
