Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless surveillance sensor networks, delay suppression is an important issue in order to collect exact sensing information (pictures from a camera) quickly in an emergency. Moreover, a high throughput is desired for maintaining the quality of pictures. Although IEEE 802.15.4 is standardized as a sensor network-oriented communications protocol, the environment where pictures are sent is not necessarily assumed. Therefore, in such an environment, collisions frequently occur, and increase of delay and the throughput degradation are not avoided. This paper proposes a novel method to set parameters for duty cycle appropriately, and to control picture-transmission in IEEE 802.15.4 beacon mode. The proposed method maintains low power consumption at ordinary times, and achieves a high throughput and a high delivery ratio in an emergency. The proposed method is evaluated by the simulation. The simulation results show the validity of the proposed method.
