Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The devices in which sensors are embedded have become common by progress of MEMS technology. A smart phone is one typical device. This paper proposes user interface by acceleration sensor in the smart phone. The kernel element is motion recognition technology of aerial roman character drawing. We composed two demonstration systems based on motion recognition. One is remote control system by smart phone, its operation target is home electrical appliances and the other is character input method for the smart phone. The recognition performances, responses and functions of demonstration system were examined to evaluate the proposed scheme and systems. It was confirmed that the control system has become a practical use and character input scheme has a possibility as an entering method for short words.
