Abstract(in English) | Recently, wireless sensor networks are drawing attention. The sensor networks consist of many sensor nodes with a sensing function and collect various information. Power-saving of sensor nodes is an important issue because of the sensor networks is used for the purpose of long-term observation. In this paper, we propose routing and access control mechanisms for power-saving in fixed observation sensor networks. In the routing, the number of control packets is reduced by exchanging route information only between neighboring sensor nodes. Moreover, in the access control technique of the proposal system, the packet collision that occurs between neighboring sensor nodes is controlled by separating transmitting time according to the type of packets. Additionally, we achieve power-saving by intermittent operation of sensor nodes. From the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed mechanisms can construct reliable routes with a few numbers of control packets and achieve power-saving of each sensor node. |
