Abstract(in English) In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), clustering technique is one of effective approaches for saving energy consumption at sensor nodes (SNs). Under space-varying traffic environments, clustering causes the non-uniformity in energy consumption and data gathering performance between clusters. The authors have proposed the traffic-distributed clustering scheme which can reduce the negative effect caused from the space-varying traffic by using cluster area control. However, the WSNs have various traffic fluctuations including the time-varying traffic along with space-varying traffic. In this paper, we evaluate the traffic-distributed clustering scheme for WSNs employing IEEE802.15.4 beacon enabled mode under time-space-varying traffic environments. We demonstrate the system performance through computer simulation and show that the proposed scheme achieves uniform and improved data gathering performance across the clusters and less energy consumption under such traffic environments.
