Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Green wireless (ICT) technology realizes highly efficient smart social systems by utilizing communication networks including wireless. Typical green wireless technologies are car navigation system for traffic networks and smart grid for power line networks. In the smart grid, supply and consumed power are controlled to be balanced by using rechargeable batteries and smart taps for realization of highly efficient and green power supply system, where smart meters (sensors) connected to the communication network plays important role to measure the power consumption in real time. In this paper, assuming a building energy management system (BEMS) using the smart grid, several key technologies, such as topology for communication network, distributed control algorithm, and wireless energy supply for sensors, are introduced. Moreover, a prototype BEMS developed to cope with the power shortage due to the Tohoku earthquake is shown in this paper.
