Hybrid Single-Carrier and Multi-Carrier System : Evaluation of Throughput with Inter-Cell Interference

Abstract(in English) We have investigated hybrid single-carrier (SC) and multi-carrier (MC) system. MC transmission is effective for high data rate communication. SC transmission is effective for keeping a wide cover area. We have already showed that hybrid SC/MC system is useful to provide a wireless data communication service with high throughput to users in wide area. In this paper, uplink throughput under multi-cell environmental was calculated using a computer simulation. We evaluated influence of co-channel interference (CCI) as inter-cell interference under multi-cell environment. We show that hybrid SC/MC system achieved high throughput and wide coverage compared to SC-Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) under environment with CCI. We show that hybrid SC/MC system can improve 10% throughput as compared to OFDMA and 90% throughput as compared to SC-FDMA using evaluation of throughput cumulative distribution.
