Delta-embedded Network System : A low-traffic distributed processing system for large-scale information sharing era

Abstract(in English) A new network system that can solve multiple problems caused by the huge traffic increase in the coming large-scale information sharing era where huge number of objects, sensors, and users are connected is demanded. We propose a new network system called "delta-embedded network system, ΔNS" which enables the strict data selection and transmission that are truly required by the application, resulting in a drastic reduction in traffic volume. The system achieves the purpose by flexibly and logically defining, representing, processing, and utilizing the "change" and "difference" inherently included in the application data. Users can develop their own systems on the provided framework, and reduce traffic volume with little extra burden. An experimental evaluation of the system using typhoon-related data showed a large reduction up to 98% in traffic volume from that obtained through the conventional all-data-aggregating-and-processing system.
