Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical amplifiers or optical receivers with high-sensitivity will be required to make an existing access network to be higher-speed network. Among optical amplifications, Raman amplification has been developed to apply to the trunk networks and is in commercial use. We report an investigation of Raman amplification in access networks, such as necessary pump powers, effectiveness of the previously proposed pump reflector, amplification of plural signal lights, and bi-directional transmission case.
