Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a center launching technique using endlessly single-mode photonic crystal fibers. This method can be used for simultaneous effective single-mode transmission of light in different wavelengths over multimode fibers. We achieved ultra-wideband (850, 1310 and 1550 nm) WDM transmission in a 1 km-long, 50 um-core graded index multimode fiber by simply splicing cm-order length PCF to the transmission fiber. We succeeded in penalty free 10 Gbit/s data transmission at a wavelength of 850 nm through optimization of PCF's structure.
