Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi core fibers had been paid great attentions as a promising candidate for the future transmission line which can enlarge the transmission capacity drastically. The large Aeff is important optical property in case of multi core fibers and enlargement of Aeff by shifting the cutoff wavelength had been studied. However, the attenuation losses of multi core fibers tend to higher than the conventional single core fibers. In this study, by applying trench index profile, we successfully developed multi-core fibers with large Aeff over 100 μm^2 and attenuation loss as low as 0.2 dB/km at 1550 nm.
