Object Extraction Using Edge-based Feature for Query-by-Sketch Image Retrieval

Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to propose the object extraction using edge-based feature in order to enable partial image retrieval in the query-by-sketch image retrieval. The feature is extracted from the edge pixels in edge image. Object is extracted by calculating similarity among features of edge pixel. This method was applied to 20,000 images in Corel Photo Gallery. Experimental results show that the retrieval accuracy is improved by effect of object extraction.
