Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, research on metallic nanolasers has been actively conducted. When metal is used in optical devices, it is crucial to reduce the effect of ohmic loss from free electrons in metal. In this report, we consider nanolasers with metallic nanowires, one of the fundamental structures which support long-range surface plasmons (SP) with low propagation loss. A laser structure supporting resonant modes for the long-range SP mode and the localized SP mode is numerically investigated, where quality factors of 158 and 220 and threshold gains of 1590 and 950 cm^<-1> are calculated respectively. These gain coefficients will be obtained in bulk semiconductors.
