Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We experimentally demonstrate a 10-Gbps differential phase-shift keying demodulation with huge birefringence in a silicon channel waveguide. Toward the future telecommunication applications with high modulation rate, we investigate the interference characteristics among different device lengths, which indicate sufficient performance including low loss and high extinction ratio. Compared with conventional free-space optics, a planar lightwave circuit and other structures based delay interferometers, the size of device can be significantly reduced.
