Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The objective of this paper is to analyze how children develop their spatial expression ability in 3-D space. We prepared a 3-D expression system that has "Translation-test", "Rotation-test" and "Paper-lay-out-test" to analyze spatial expression ability of children. As an experiment, we collected data by using our 3-D expression system in pre-school. We conducted surveys comparing the system and an IQ test, and comparing two set of methods in the Paper-lay-out-test. The results are summarized as follows: 1) We obtained correlations between the system and WPPSI. The system can analyze spatial expression ability; 2) In the paper-lay-out-test, the results showed that success rates of examinees who used simple symbolic illustrated papers are greater than examinees who used realistic illustrated papers.
