Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) is an X-ray combining the features of laser. XFEL may permit non-crystalline biological samples to be imaged from the ensemble of two-dimensional diffraction patterns and could remove a current bottleneck in the structure determination. The approach based on computer science is necessary to realize this possibility. We are developing a methodology to analyze a huge amount of XFEL diffraction data from micro/nano- materials using computer simulation. Here, we introduce the present status of our methodology for imaging biological samples with XFEL at SPring-8 Angstrom Compact free electron LAser (SACLA).
