Development and Evaluation of Indoor Waking-Path Estimation System using Sensors of Android Mobile Device

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new system for estimating walking paths, which can observe people's indoor location (e.g., a floor or a room where user is staying). This system is using an acceleration sensor and an orientation sensor of an Android device. Particularly emphasized new techniques in this paper are methods to estimate locations where walking directions are changed, and to specify whether an elevator is used to move to another floor with vector map matching. The experimental evaluation has shown that the proposed method can estimate the correct walking paths with accuracy of more than 80[%].
