A study of interference estimation of terrestrial IMT systems to mobile satellite system in IMT-satellite band(JC-SAT 2011)

Abstract(in English) The allocated frequency band for IMT-satellite system (S-IMT) is adjacent to Terrestrial IMT systems (T-IMT) core band and it is intensively utilized in Japan, compatibility analysis is crucial for the system design of the S-IMT system. Among interference paths between 2 systems, T-IMT user terminal (T-UE) TX to S-IMT satellite RX path will be the most critical case for S-IMT system, because it should envisage aggregate interferences from tens of millions of T-UEs in service area of the satellite. The information such as T-UEs distribution and emission power to assess the interference study in actual environment is very limited. Under these circumstances, authors have addressed the study start with estimating these parameters using publicly accessible databases. Then, unwanted emissions from the T-UEs were derived with Monte Carlo simulation. The paper will describe the approach of deriving unwanted emission from T-UEs to IMT-satellite and present the results of some typical cases.
