Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An extraction of a center line from a moving image captured by a camera in the moving car is important for the scene analysis of the image. This paper proposes a method of center line extraction and the proposed method is aimed for finding the opposite lane to detect oncoming cars. In this method, we consider not only a solid line painted in the straight road, but also one in a curved road, a cross hatch patterned area, a broken white line. The proposed method is applied to the moving picture captured by an in-vehicle camera. The result shows that the proposed method can find the center line correctly and the opposite traffic lane can be detected.
