Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose an image enlargement method based on nearest neighbor interpolation (NNI). NNI assigns an input pixel value into some output neighboring pixels and an impression of an output image is coarse. However, it can be said that an NNI output is sharper than resulting images obtained by bilinear and bicubic interpolation. The proposed method does a smoothing process against an NNI output to obtain a final resulting image. Although we have proposed this type method, an enlargement scale was fixed to twice in the previous one. An extended method to apply arbitrary enlargement scale is proposed in this report.
