Abstract(in English) | Various studies have been made about the character detection and character recognition. However, fast and accurate character strings detection from scene image is still a difficult problem. In this paper, as an attempt to detect any character string in the environment, we propose a method to quickly detect character strings from scene images acquired by an omni-directional camera. The proposed method achieves high-speed detection from a large image and video information by using edge information. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect character strings to some extent. |
