| 抄録(和) | 近年の動画像符号化方式では,動き補償予測の技術が高度に発達しており,それに伴って動ベクトル情報の効率的な符号化手法が課題となっている.一般的な動ベクトルの符号化では,近傍ブロックからメディアン予測等の手法によって単一の予測ベクトルを算出し,当該ブロックの動ベクトルとの差分に対して符号を割り当ている.本稿では,ブロック毎に検出した動ベクトルを直接多値算術符号化することを前提とし,その水平・垂直成分に関する確率密度関数のモデルを,近傍ブロックの参照動ベクトル群を用いて動的に算出する手法について述べる.参照動ベクトルの配置や重み付けの方法について検討した結果,一般的なメディアン予測に基づく手法と比べて動ベクトルの符号量を20～25%程度削減できることを確認した. |
| 抄録(英) | In modern video coding schemes, as techniques of motion compensated prediction are highly developed, efficient coding of motion vector information becomes a crucial issue. For this purpose, in general, a single prediction of the motion vector is computed from the neighboring blocks based on a certain rule such as median prediction, and the resulting differential vector is entropy coded. This paper describes an alternative method which directly encodes horizontal and vertical components of the motion vector using a multi-symbol arithmetic coder. A probability model used in the arithmetic coder has multiple peaks and their positions are dynamically determined using reference motion vectors in causal neighbors. By using the appropriate configuration of the reference motion vectors with an adaptive weighting technique, the amount of coding bits needed for the motion vectors is reduce by 20-25% compared with the conventional method based on the median prediction. |
