Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, with the spread of network cameras, video surveillance cameras has been used as a tool to improve customer service and marketing. Histograms of Oriented Gradients (HOG) is proposed as a technology used for such general object recognition. However, change of rotation and a size is not supported in HOG. Then we propose the machine learning method which uses log-polar mapping and HOG in the present study. It deals with the rotation and the change of a size. We compared proposal method with the method using HOG in 5 respects and evaluated it. They are the number of the learning sheets, recognition rate of rotated recognition object, recognition rate that we changed size of recognition object, number of misdetection and processing time.
