Abstract(in English) It is common for telecom operators to monitor alarms produced by communication devices for detecting network failures. However, the same types of alarms occur at management operations (e.g., replacement of equipment) and such alarms are indistinguishable from those that occur at network failures, which make it difficult for the network operators to determine the cause of the alarm occurrence. It is considered an effective method to generate and register alarm patterns produced by network operations (suppression patterns) with the network management system so that such alarms can be suppressed and only those produced by network failures are identified. It is however an issue to automatically generate a pattern of alarms produced by network operations with a mixture of fault alarms. In this paper, we propose an automatic method to generate the suppression patterns of alarms produced by network operations using the network configuration information and report our system implementation for the radio access network and the baseline evaluations of the proposed alarm suppression method.
