| 抄録(和) | 近年,無線LAN(WLAN)上でのマルチメディア通信の需要の増加に加え,モバイルルータ(携帯型アクセスポイント,以下,AP)が急速に普及している.このことから,APとその端末(例えば携帯やPC,ゲーム機等)が併せて移動する環境(WLANモバイル環境)が多くなってきた.無線LANのチャネル数には限りがあるため,多くのルータが近付くと,同一チャネルを使わざるを得ず,干渉が起こり,WLANシステム全体およびTCP/UDPフローのスループットは劣化する.この劣化は,電波干渉,トランスポートプロトコル,端末の省電力機能など多くの要因が重なって発生するため,単純なシミュレーションモデルで,実際の性能を議論することは難しい.本研究では,実機実験にてWLANシステム自体が移動し複数のWLANが近接するときのTCP/UDPのフローレベルでの特性評価,及びWLAN間の不公平性を改善するためのどん欲なTCPを用いた制御方法の検討を行った.実験評価により,距離により決まる3つの状態において,UDPとTCP(端末からAPの向きのデータトラヒック)ではそれぞれ大きく異なるスループット特性を持つことを明らかにした.また,WLAN間に接続端末数に偏りがある時は,TCPにおいては,WLAN間で不公平が生じ,これを改善するためにスループットをどん欲に獲得しようとするTCPを用いることで,不公平を大きく改善できることを示した. |
| 抄録(英) | A mobile router (access point: AP) and associated terminals to the AP move together with mobile users. Since a number of Wireless LAN (WLAN) channels is limited when multiple WLANs come close each other, the multiple WLANs may have no choices except using the same channel. In the case, Quality of Services such as throughput can be degraded. This results from both radio interference as well as transport protocol behavior, power saving mechanism, etc. Thus, performance evaluation should be made by using real machines.. In this study, we investigate characteristics of throughput in TCP/UDP flows of real machines when the distance between two WLANs changes. The experimental results shows there are three states in different interference levels and characteristics of individual flow throughput in TCP significantly differ from that in UDP. Moreover, unfairness in individual WLAN throughput occurs if WLANs have different numbers of terminals and flows. In order to mitigate the unfairness, we propose a solution in which greedy TCP is employed instead of normal TCP in the smaller throughput WLAN to mitigate the unfairness and shows effectiveness of the solution. |
