Abstract(in English) | In order to obtain the physical properties of marine sediments by using the acoustic characteristics of reflection at the interface of seawater and marine sediments, and acoustic propagation in the seawater, it is necessary to derive the relationship between the acoustical and physical characteristics of marine sediments. The acoustical characteristics of marine sediments are extremely complicate because they are composed of solid grain and seawater, therefore, there are a lot of research issues on the acoustic wave propagation in marine sediments. In this report, the historical background and the recent research progress in the study on the acoustics of marine sediments are reviewed. |
