Abstract(in English) We have proposed the consecutive handwritten character recognition method based on the feature graph. The feature graph expresses structure of characters. In our method, the partial area of the target string is clipped based on isomorphic subgraphs, which have the same structure as the indispensable structure of a known character and are of the target string's feature graph. And similarities between the area and known characters are calculated, and the area is recognized as the known character with the highest similarity. However, our method can't correctly recognize the strings consisting of characters with various width. In this paper, we propose the improvement technique which solves this problem. By this technique, the width of each character can be reflected more correctly when clipping a partial area. Finally we also show the usefulness of our proposed technique by conducting recognition experiments.
