Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently many techniques which analyze operational logs for business applications have been proposed because of improvements of the security and operational efficiencies. One of the most important issues in such techniques is methods logging GUI states which enable to infer operational contexts to business applications. In this paper, we discuss on logging methods for GUI states using the UI Automation which is one of accessibility techniques. Ordinarily, accessibility techniques provide two APIs, the one can obtain GUI states from applications directly, and the other can detect changes of GUI states. Although accessibility techniques are often used in automation fields on GUI operations, we have never heard reports on whether accessibility techniques are suitable for logging. Therefore this paper shows some evaluations as logging methods and considers challenges of each API. In addition, we propose a practical logging method which enables us to overcome these challenges by means of the combination of two APIs.
