Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In future photonic networks, in addition to OOK, higher spectrum efficient multiple-level PSK may be introduced. In such networks, modulation format conversion between different modulation formats in gateway nodes will be required. In this report, we describe a design method of all-optical NRZ-OOK/RZ-QPSK modulation format converter by use of cross phase modulation in optical fiber. For the converter, two high-power OOK signals are launched into HNLF, so we need to pay attention to optical parametric amplification and four wave mixing, and design an appropriate wavelength allocation of OOK signals.
