Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose an all-optical modulation format conversion method from binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) to quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) using a conventional delay line interferometer (DLI). Although DLI is normally used for receiving the phase modulated signal, it is used for the format conversion in our proposed method. In this report we describe the principle of the proposed conversion method and the conversion circuit configuration. Moreover, we experimentally demonstrate its operation with 12G b/s setup. As a result, the error-free operation has been obtained.
