Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We show a scheme of single-shot waveform measurement of ultrafast optical signals using the time-axis stretching technique. After the time axis of a waveform of an optical signal under the test is stretched, the time-stretched waveform is measured by the use of a low-speed oscilloscope with a photo-detector. The time-stretching of the signal waveform is achieved by dispersing a linearly-chirped pulse, which is intensity-modulated by the waveform of the signal under the test. We designed and constructed the time-stretching systems based on a chirped pulse, an all-optical modulator and optical fibers as dispersive elements. Using our time-stretching technique with 15-GHz bandwidth electronics, we demonstrated waveform measurement of 160-Gbit/s return-to-zero on-off keying optical signals.
