Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We report the experimental demonstration of 10-GS/s 5-bit optical quantization using soliton self-frequency shift (SSFS) and multi-stage spectral compression. Previously, we realized 5-bit optical quantization using a relatively low repetitive frequency laser to provide a sufficient peak power for generation of SSFS because this scheme has the inherent feature of sampling rate transparency. In this work, we experimentally test the high-speed operation of our 5-bit optical quantization system by transmitting 10-Gb/s multi intensity level signals in order to prove the feature of sampling rate transparency at 10 GS/s. Furthermore, to confirm the reliability of our system, we executed the bit-error-rate (BER) measurement.
