| 抄録(和) | 本稿では各局所領域から得られるLocal Binary Pattern(LBP)の隣接関係に基づく特徴抽出を提案する.LBPを用いた代表的な特徴量であるLBPヒストグラムは,画像全体に渡って求めたLBPの頻度であり,隣接するLBP対がどのように繋がっているという構造情報は抽出できていなかった.このような構造情報は識別には重要である.提案法ではLBPの単純なヒストグラムではなく,隣接するLBP対のヒストグラムに基づいて,構造情報を記述する.これによりLBPの照明変動に対する頑健性は保持しつつ,より表現力の高い特徴抽出を実現する.提案法の有効性を,顔認識,テクスチャ認識の評価実験により検証する. |
| 抄録(英) | In this paper, we propose a new image feature based on adjacency relationship among local region, where each local region is represented by a Local Binary Pattern (LBP). In conventional LBP-based features such as LBP histograms, all the LBPs are packed into a single histogram. Doing so discards important information concerning spatial relations among the LBPs, even though they may contain spacial information about the image's structure. To consider such spatial information, we measure their adjacency relationship among LBPs. Moreover, we utilize a histogram of pairs of adjacent LBPs in order to effectively obtain the spacial infomation. The significant advantage of the proposed method versus conventional LBP-based features is demonstrated through experimental results of face and texture recognition using public databases. |
