Abstract(in English) In this paper, a telemetry system for remote controlling and monitoring of supporting equipment and accessories for a coastal surveillance Radar, named ISRA (Indonesia Surveillance Radar), is proposed. This ISRA Radar is installed at a Radar test site in Merak, Cilegon to monitor the vessel traffics going through the Sunda Strait. As this Radar operates 24 hours a day, a continuous and real time telemetry system is required. Correct and actual data is needed to evaluate the overall performance of the Radar. Some required data are power supply conditions, temperatures of room and electronic components (inside the Radar modules), status of signal processing PC, main PC, and AIS system. The aim of this research is to design and develop a telemetry system for the ISRA Radar. A module called RTY (Remote Terminal Unit) is developed to provide a data communication via cellular network. This telemetry system enables the ISRA Radar to operate automatically and be able to manage failures. The brief methodology of this research as follows: design, implementation, testing and evaluation. As presented in this paper, the telemetry system shows the expected performance in order to support the operational of the ISRA Radar.
