Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The simple analytical method to estimate venous changes is effective in early detection of disease. However, experts such as a medical doctor and a clinical technologist who can use specific diagnostic systems are required to diagnose venous diseases. Therefore, we studied the noninvasive and simple method for visualization of a venous shape, using an image acquired from a near-infrared CMOS camera (780 nm). Especially, the combination of stochastic resonance and a 2-D Gabor filter made it possible to emphasize the weak signal of venous shapes. In the future studies, the proposed method may simply detect peripheral swelling and the autonomic nervous activity from the change of vein images.
