Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new structural receiver antenna for mobile satellite communications is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two loop elements which operate as dominant and second mode resonant frequency and it is fed by an open-ended slot line with a radial stub. By adjusting parameters of the feeder line, reflection characteristics of the antenna were improved and beam scanning characteristics of linear array antenna were studied. As the results, the element antenna had the beam tilted unidirectional radiation pattern at around 35 degree in the elevation angle. The 16-element linear array antenna showed the beam scanning characteristics in the elevation angle is determined to be 20 to 50 degrees without a fluctuation of the gain. In addition, on the 512-element linear array antenna structure, the gain of the main lobe was over 30 dBi. According to the above results, the proposed array antenna is suitable for the mobile satellite communications antenna.
