Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The structure of the reception antenna of the digital terrestrial television broadcasting in Japan is optimized by the PSO algorithm. The unbalanced fed ultra low profile inverted L antenna on a rectangular conducting plate is used as the driven element and two conducting plates are located at the forward and backward directions. Additional two conducting plates are located above and below of the driven element in order to increase the directivity. In the case of antenna size of 165 mm by 332 mm by 480 mm, the return loss bandwidth less than -10 dB is satisfied at the whole broadcasting frequency band (470 MHz to 710 MHz) and the directivity of 8.0 dBi to 8.4 dBi is obtained. In the numerical analysis, the electromagnetic simulator "WIPL-D" based on the method of moment is used.
