Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In re-size (scaling) of a picture, a resolution improvement technology called "super resolution" has been studied in prosperously. As one of intra-picture processing, a directional adaptive processing which realizes an improvement of subjective picture quality with a reduction of alias is discussed. In this processing, a clustering to change the processing by area type, and directional adaptive processing at edge area are applied. Previously, these processing are based on the different methods, and error tended to occur in directional detection. In this report, we try to use eight directional operators which are extended from four directional operators for both the directional detection and the clustering. Deviation of the operator output is used for clustering, and the maximum operator gives the direction of interpolation. It was recognized that the proposed method gives better picture quality without complexity and directional error.
