Abstract(in English) | There are some cameras and displays of which gamut is wider than those of standards on color gamut. Therefore, it is difficult to apply conventional concept on picture quality to image devises which have wider gamut than that defined in the current standards. In the present study, when color gamut is changed from the vision color gamut to that of HDTV, picture quality of images displayed with the gamut was subjectively evaluated. In the results, a size of the gamut where acceptable picture quality is perceived is around that of HDTV. However, difference of picture quality is perceived on the limit, color gamut would be required to be wider than that of object color in fields of severe color management. The knowledge gives effective guides for developments of next generation image devises and systems. |
