Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) WEP is a security protocol in a wireless LAN network, and its vulnerability has been pointed out. Many key recovering attacks against WEP are proposed with using its vulnerability. These attacks can recover a WEP key by observing about 20,000 packets in an instant. If we want to use WEP, we should update the key whenever it is communicated for 10,000 packets. It is the best way of updating the key every 10,000 packets against the key recovery attacks. However 10,000 packets is very few, so it is not realistic to update the key every 10,000 packets. In this paper, we propose secure WEP operation against the key recovery attacks and invalidate them using a few packets. This technique works only using a few packets and send approximately 100,000 packets before next key update to manage secure WEP communication.
