Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sensor node life-time limitation in wireless sensor networks has long become an issue, preventing the realization of a reliable ubiquitous network. By fusing wireless sensor network and wireless power transmission, the authors have proposed the concept of wireless grid to solve the battery life problem in indoor environment. In this paper, we perform the link design for wireless grid including both the power transmission and the data transmission transfer and compare the performance to conventional sensor networks. The wireless power transmission of the proposed system is designed to support spatially distributed indoor sensors with driving power of 100μW by introducing techniques e.g. transceiver diversity and carrier shifted multipoint transmission to improve power charging efficiency and avoid long-term signal power degradation due to standing wave problem. In addition, in data transmission link, multiple access scheme based on multi-user MIMO technologies is adapted to the network topology to improve the spectral efficiency of the entire network. Simulation results show an improvement of more than 10 times in terms of network spectral efficiency compared to conventional network. It can be said that the proposed technique can realize an autonomous and highly efficient ubiquitous sensor networks.
